First...a Tease

Ok, so we are more or less right on schedule to return just after St. Patty's Day. I'd hoped to be back sooner, but we've had a number of things come up, as I figured they would.

Most notably we're working on getting the book printed before San Diego, and the pre-production on that is draining a lot of time. Expect preorders to begin shortly after we return from hiatus. We've been courting various printers, trying to find the best price and quality for this one. It's new territory for us, but it should be really cool to see it through. I'll have some sample pages for you to see in a couple weeks. Suffice it to say, it's looking pretty sharp already.

Some details on the book...

- 96 Pages, full color

- Approx 6" x 9"

- All 70 of the current strips

- 21 of the Old strips (pretty much everything but the "diary style" strips. This is the only section where it's more than one strip to a page. I started small...)

- 9 Guest strips done for various other comics

- At least 2 brand new, exclusive strips (depending on time, there's likely to be 4 to 5 if I can pull it off)

- Exclusive, never-before-(or rarely)-seen concept sketches and assorted random art

- Corrected spelling and/or/plus grammer!

- Many, many notes, comments, and behind the scenes info throughout. There's not quite commentary on every strip, but there's going to be plenty of blathering nonetheless.

- The price should be about $10. We're still working out the finances on it, but that number is a pretty safe bet.

Also, there is a new shirt design on the way based on the urinal strip! Steve will be marking the old shirt down to $10 so we can clear out the last of them. If you want one of the heartbolt shirts, get it now, they're not likely to be reprinted.

Update: It's been brought to my attention that Halloween was Shaun of the Dead and The Lost Skeleton of Cadavera.

Evil Dead 2 was the midnight show a week later.

I would just like to point out that I have the best boyfriend ever!

We went to see "Boogeyman" last night, since I have to work this evening.

Easily one of the worst horror movies either of us had ever seen. A flatly stupid movie on nearly every level. A couple of good ideas showed up near the end, but it was far too late and they seemed like afterthoughts. It also had the largest collection of loose ends and blatent inconsistencies I've seen in any movie in some time.

Bravo tho to the filmakers for their obvious sequel plans. Apparently they're planning a courtroom drama to follow, and a short one at that.

I much preferred the movie we saw on our first date.

Welcome back!

Sorry we had to stay away so long, but I hope you'll agree it was worth the wait.

This past week was the second anniversary of RP, and we're starting the new year with a new look for the site and a minor update to the strip itself.

We're still working on getting the book ready for print, so we'll be keeping the traditional Monday updates for the time being. Once we get things finished there we may be adding a Friday update as well. Preorders for the book will commence in a week or two, so get ready to drop a ten-spot (for the love of Jeevus!).

So the site got another nice little makeover. The color scheme was changed, thankfully, I was getting tired of that purple. Eric bought some fonts, so things are starting to look better. Hope you guys dig it, lemme know if something doesn't work right.

I fucking hate spammers. I just finished adding a ton of porn sites to a list that'll reject them, as we are suddenly being bombarded by these fucks. It just started happening out of nowhere, luckily a friend of mine found out what it meant. He and I were in awe when I noticed it. Some of the names were fucking hysterical, while others were just disturbing.

Seriously, fuck spammers. Anyone who makes money off of this shit needs to be punched in the face, repeatedly.
