03.30.05 11:54 AM I'd like to take a quick moment to address something that really ticked me off today. A few people have written in chewing me out for not updating the strip as much as they'd like. "You take a month and a half off, then come back with the same one strip a week schedule, and start asking people to buy shirts." So now I'm apparently lazy and greedy. Guys, I love this comic. I love doing this comic. I would like nothing more than to quit my day job and update all week long. But I'm realistic, that's not going to happen anytime soon. Simply put, this comic costs a whole lot more than it takes in. The shirts are designed to help ever so slightly with that issue. As for working on the comic, I've worked more on the comic in the past two months than I ever have in the past. Just because you haven't seen the results yet doesn't mean you won't. Were it not for the insane amount of time that putting this book together has taken up, you'd be seeing two strips a week right now. Cause that's what I've been doing lately, two strips a week. In addition to writing, designing, formatting, and laying out the book with the goal of getting it done in time for San Diego. I know the pacing of the first few strips is a bit slow, but there's a reason for that, which you'll see. It's the beginning of something new, and that takes time. The next couple strips are substantially meatier, so relax. You want to see more strips? Buy a shirt. Better yet, buy the book too. Cause I'm about to invest well over 2 months worth of income into this comic, hoping that I survive it. I may be a long way from 5 strips a week, but I'm technically AT 2 already. The extra strips I'm doing this month are going to be in the book, as a thank you for those that help me out by buying a copy. Can't afford ten bucks? Well, you'll be seeing more strips anyway. Once the book is out the door I'll be able to address that issue properly. The majority of you have been incredibly supportive, and I thank you more than you know. This is my baby, and I'm in this for the long haul. See you Monday. 03.28.05 10:48 AM Sorry for the late morning update, I was away for the weekend. Hope everybody had a happy Zombie Day yesterday. We were just having a discussion on the subject of stores being closed on Easter, and it was agreed that it was the only prudent thing to do. If Dawn of the Dead has taught us anything, it's that places of commerce are the last places you want to be when the dead walk the earth. Preorders for the book should be starting late this week or early next. I'm still trying to find time to start the cover, but the rest of it is right on schedule. The 4-part exclusive story is written and planned to be drawn over the next few weeks, and for once I'm actually ahead on the regular strips! That's right, not only was today's strip done before last night, but 73 was done midway through last week. This bodes well for the future, in so far as I might actually be able to sustain 2 comics a week at some regular point in time. Now if I can just avoid my PSP, I'll be fine. Damn Sony and their timing...
