Just a quick note for all the people who pre-ordered the book. The last of the signatures should be added in the next few days, and I'm currently getting the envelopes ready. We should be sending them out by Monday.

Huzzah!

Holy crap! San Diego was amazing!

We shared a table with Kyle of Brainwrap Comics, Les McClaine of Jonny Crossbones fame, and a bunch of guys from Dayfree Press, including

Sam and Fuzzy

Questionable Content

Little Gamers

White Ninja

Boy on a Stick, and Slither.

In addition, Butternut Squash was set up across the isle from us, and treated us to several rounds of unexpected Karaoke over the weekend.

Steve's gonna put together some kind of con report, with pictures and such in the next couple days.

I was seriously amazed at how many people out there already knew who we were, or even more surprising, were actually looking for us. o_O

Very cool :)

I learned a couple of really interesting lessons this year. Firstly, if you're gonna draw people to your booth with a goggle-wearing stuffed panda, you'd better have some for actual sales. People loved the panda. If I'd brought a bunch of small stuffed pandas with some kind of goggles, I could have sold a ton. Consider that lesson well taken to heart.

Lesson two. More panda, more panda, MORE PANDA! Good god, did I underestimate the draw of that animal. I sold out of character buttons on the last day, but none of them had the panda. If they had, I'd have been out by friday.

Lessons three through seven are more of the same, so let's just say I'll be producing a bit more panda merchandise over the next year. Seriously I've resisted using him as a main character for reasons I don't even really remember. But the response to him was so strong this past week that I'm going to be changing that somewhat.

As for next year, plans are already being laid to make it the best con ever, AGAIN! Although, I'm gonna start things a bit earlier this time...

We got a ton of links while we were gone, which makes me feel doubly bad about not having any new material up this week. The upcoming con report should hopefully hold you over till I can get a new strip done, and it will answer the question of what the hell I've been doing the past few months. Still no word on when I'm going to have my new Wacom screen, which is really bad since I was counting on that to help me get back up to speed. We're coming up on 3 months since I ordered it, and it was estimated to be 2 months backordered at most. I'll be calling them in the morning, and hopefully I'll get some kind of answer. I NEED my baby! There's so much I've been putting off doing in the strip till I can use that thing.

More info once Steve does the picture thing, peace and rocketships for now...

If you missed it yesterday, check out my Guest Strip at Joe and Monkey!

I leave on Friday for San Diego, so the next strip will be in approximately two weeks. I had the current storyline timed to end before SD, but as I'm two weeks off now that didn't happen. My apologies for the minor cliffhanger, it will be soon resolved...

I can't believe how behind I am. The new strip is drawn, but I still haven't had time to color it. I'm going to be up late tonight packing up the last of the boxes to be shipped to San Diego. They gotta go out first thing in the morning or they'll likely miss the first day of the con. I seriously can't wait to show you what we've been working on the past few months, but there's a reason why I'm waiting. You'll see soon enough.

So there WILL be a strip up this week, but it's gonna be mad late. Most likely we're looking at Wednesday morning. In addition though, Joe and Monkey should be running my guest strip at some point this week, or possibly over the weekend. Sadly, there won't be a strip here next monday, as there's just not enough time to do one before we leave on friday. And the monday after the con is gonna be blank as well :P Yeah, I suck.

BUT, I will be making it up to you shortly after that. My brand new Wacom Cintiq should be arriving while we're at the con, and that signals the imminent arrival of two strips a week. Not right away, but not far off.

Not far off at all...

Ok, I've got some good news, some bad news, and more good news...

First off, THE BOOKS ARE HERE!!! The colors in that picture are terrible, so let me just say that the book itself is gorgeous. It came out so much better than I'd expected, I cannot believe it. We won't have time before the convention to sign and ship them, but we will be taking care of that immediately after the event.

Second, the bad news. No strip this week. Well that may not be entirely true... Basically I'm in the process of finalizing everything for San Diego, and I ran out of time.

The second bit of good news though, is that I'm currently finishing up a ridiculously detailed guest strip that will likely run in the next week or two. So I still did a strip for this week, it's just not a RP strip. I'll definately have a new strip for next monday though.

In other news, I'm still waiting for my Cintiq 21UX to ship out. They've been running about 2 months behind on their allocation, and that's about how long ago I ordered it. With luck I'll have it by the time I get back from the convention. I seriously can't wait for this thing, it's going to make a huge differance in speed and quality.

More later...
