As an update to the Wacom situation, I've talked to the guys at Cool Graphics again. What they're telling me is that Wacom so thouroughly underestimated the demand for these things that they sold out their production allocation FOR THE YEAR in less than 48 hours. Now for those not really familiar with the device in question, the Cintiq 21UX is a drastic step up in tablet tech. Not only is it about the largest tablet they make, it's also a 21" LCD screen. The big difference though from their previous efforts at similar products is that it now supports things like pen tilt and their full standard sensitivity range. In addition, the quick buttons and sliding touch strips are a wet dream come true for us graphic types. Best of all, even though the price tag is admittedly steep, it's considerably less than you might expect. And apparently about 1000 less than the rest of the world is shelling out.

Unfortunately, I've now been told I shouldn't expect to see mine until late this month, and more likely sometime in September.

That blows, but there's really not much help for it. Wacom is only shipping them out so fast.

I'm just gonna have to wait...
