New comic will be up in a couple days, I'm inking it right now.

Perspective is a fickle mistress...

This is the most absurd thing I've seen in a while.

Saw Narnia last night. Pretty much what I expected, really. Even with the fantastic Weta Workshop handling the wardrobe and special effects it's just not very interesting to look at. The world of Narnia has always seemed bland to me, even as a kid reading the books. C.S. Lewis was much more interested in the message he was sending than the medium used to send it. Everything in Narnia is very generic fantasy stuff. Griffins, centaurs, talking animals, Santa Claus?!?... But none of it with any kind of uniqueness. It all seems plucked from a fantasy dictionary, unaltered in any way. Looking at it now it seems very much like Narnia is the Everquest of fantasy literature. Very popular, but it's a world with a lazy imagination.

As for the execution of the movie, meh. It's about as good as one could really hope for, given the source material, but there's a real sense of "actors on stage" you get from nearly all the performances. Pretty much every review has mentioned this, and it's immediately obvious why when you actually see it. Like everything else in the movie, the actors don't seem to be very deep into their roles. And to be fair, it kinda works. If they'd taken some of it more seriously it would have seemed out of place, concidering the almost cartoonish feel everything else has. The story is one of kids playing fantasy dress-up, and learning about Jesus via the "beat you repeatedly with the large stick of extremely thinly veiled metaphor" teaching method. Adding more depth to any one part would stick out like a sore thumb.

Ah well, there's still a Hobbit movie in the potential works...

No that's not "my" head. If it isn't immediately recognizable. you need to go read yourself some Sam and Fuzzy. Said strip has been particularly rocking lately.

In merchandizing news, Good God!

You people have managed to decimate my previously thought to be optimistic supply of shirts in a matter of two weeks. I have more being printed in a matter of days, and those who ordered ones which we ran out of won't have long to wait.

Thank you all, I feel a lot better about doing shirts now :)

As for the strip above, I know a lot of you are already rather upset over the lack of color. I've heard from a few of you, and I can only say give it a chance. I really need to do this, for my own artistic development. I will still be doing color stuff on the side, and it will be better than what you've seen, trust me. I also have a couple of projects in the works that involve color that really have me ticking. Can't really say anything about them yet, as I need to have more done before I can show it off. Suffice it to say, it'll be "different" ;)

Later all.
